# Providers

Providers in our Merchant API refer to the specific Mobile Money Operators (MMOs) that are available through our platform.
They are a mandatory part of the `accountDetails` for both [Deposits](/v2/api-reference/deposits/initiate-deposit) and [Payouts](/v2/api-reference/payouts/initiate-payout).
This ensures the payment is routed to the correct provider.

You can always check which providers are available on your account from the [active configuration](/v2/api-reference/toolkit/active-configuration) endpoint.

You can use the [predict provider](/v2/api-reference/toolkit/predict-provider) endpoint to predict the provider for a phone number (MSISDN).

The number of decimal places that can be specified for the `amount` of the payment varies between different providers.
You can use the [active configuration](/v2/api-reference/toolkit/active-configuration) endpoint to dynamically fetch whether decimals are supported by the provider.
